Algeria is the 5th largest economy in Africa, and second in the Maghreb region. The economy is significantly powered by the oil and gas sector, with 97% of exports being petroleum, natural gas or petroleum products. The country’s historical ties mean it enjoys good trade links with France, as well as Italy, Spain and the USA.

There are many career opportunities available to diaspora talent in Algeria. The country requires expertise in several fields, and has a well developed economy. The country has well developed labour laws, with a minimum wage and maximum working week of 40 hours. The major economic driver is the oil & gas industry, but the major cities, including Algiers, have developing industries for young and senior professionals alike. You will need to obtain a job offer before moving to the country, and it is advised that you thoroughly understand the healthcare and security packages you will receive as part of any offer.
