Working in Senegal

The Senegalese economy is predominantly based on agriculture. The country has excellent port facilities, and its position means its trade in fishing and peanuts drives the economy. The country is also home to much of West Africa’s banking sector and has a well developed tourism industry.

Why work in Senegal?

Senegal’s economy is powered by the export of farmed goods, and one of the largest tourism industries in Africa. There are many opportunities for skilled workers in early career and senior roles. The economy continues to grow year on year. Taxation is reflective of the region, and expatriates pay an addition tax. The standard of healthcare is good, especially in urban areas. Security is generally better than most West African neighbours, but you should still follow advice from your employer carefully.
